Lighthouse Treatment Center believes in helping the family through the recovery process. Our Family Program is geared towards creating healthy boundaries, effective communication and rebuilding trusting relationships with the addict.
Families are encouraged during the client’s treatment at Lighthouse Treatment Center, to be involved in therapy and counseling, as well as attending Family educational courses and Family process groups.
A family can begin to heal as soon as they discover they are not in control of the addict or the addicts drug or alcohol problem. Our program is designed to help the family begin to take responsibility for their own health and happiness.
It is the families’ responsibility to step away from unhealthy behaviors and move into a new life of recovery. The Family Program offers the necessary support and structure to help make this happen.
Family Recovery is a Process
The Family Program at Lighthouse Treatment Center focuses on the healing process through recovery. We promote goal setting with a therapist or counselor, and teach new healthy coping methods and boundaries to implement while moving forward with the addict in life after treatment.
The Family Program Involves:
· Educational presentations by clinical staff on substance abuse and recovery
· Group discussions and processing of feelings or traumatic experiences
· Personal goal setting
· Fellowship with other participants
· Counseling and Therapy with or without the client
· Couples counseling available
